Our Love Story

The proposal in Portugal

What started with a simple swipe on a dating app quickly became something much deeper than either of us expected. We matched, started talking, and soon our nights turned into long, effortless phone calls—hours filled with laughter, honesty, and that peaceful feeling that God was aligning something special.

Two weeks later, our first date confirmed everything our hearts already sensed. From then on, we were driving one hour each way just to see each other, meeting up every weekend, and building a connection rooted in joy, intention, and faith. As our conversations deepened, so did our relationship with God at the center. Praying together, encouraging each other, and growing spiritually became our foundation—our strongest commonality and the anchor of our love.

After a year and a half together, that same foundation led us to one of the most unforgettable moments of our lives: a surprise sunrise proposal in Portugal. As the sky warmed with the first light of day, surrounded by beauty and God's undeniable presence, our families were there—off in the distance, watching with full hearts, ready to celebrate the moment with us. Their love, support, and joyful tears made the morning even more meaningful.

That sunrise marked the beginning of forever, and now we cannot wait to celebrate our marriage with the people who have walked alongside us, prayed for us, and loved us through every chapter.

Dress Code

Formal Elegance / Derby Chic Optional

Please join us in formal evening wear with an optional Derby-inspired touch.

Women: Floor-length or elegant midi gowns. Tasteful fascinators or structured hats are welcome but completely optional.

Men: Any suit of your choice. Optional Derby-inspired accents such as a refined fedora, derby hat, patterned tie, or polished accessories. Please avoid daytime Derby elements like seersucker, straw hats, or overly casual looks.

The Derby touches are meant to be subtle and elegant—never costume-like or overly bright—perfectly suited for an evening celebration.

Please avoid these colors: shades of pink, purple, champagne, tan, ivory, and cream. These tones are reserved for the wedding's design.

Dress Code: Smart Casual

Jackets and blazers optional. Vests, collared shirts, sweaters, dresses, pantsuits, dress jeans, dress shorts, and slacks are all appropriate.

Avoid: cargo shorts, t-shirts, crop tops, athletic wear, swimwear, frayed denim, and tennis shoes.
